You do know that you could have applied to the EU for a not insubstantial grant to deploy several of their copious stock of "Not for Avian consumption" signs (in 28 languages) in and around the general area of your presence, don't you?

Had a red kite take off from a fence behind me last weekend, I hadn't even noticed it was there. Frightened the bejesus out of me, fuck me they are HUGE.
Had a golden eagle land on the balcony of my villa in switzerland right next to where my ex was snoozing/sunbathing many years ago, I had put some cooked sausages on the handrail to feed the pine martens and badgers. Managed to get a pic of the bird in the distance and you could just make out the sausage in its talons. Left big scratch marks on the handrail.

In another unconnected bird story, earlier this year I had an 8 pound American Bald Eagle land on my head. Left me with a Harry Potter esque scar for a few weeks, and a video which has been laughed at a great many times.
I stood still like a rabbit in the headlights - those talons are pretty sharp

Whilst we are on the subject of all things avian ... about a month ago my Budgie hen (Sheila) flew into a glue fly trap that I had forget in my conservatory/diner... what a mess that was trying to get her unattached... left behind a good lot of her plumage... the stooopid not-so-feathered flying fuck....
